Moth to a Flame

There’s no silence to be had
Between us, or so my instincts claim.
You rarely let me in even so,
Should I then try again?

Your glass is full of stories
Of your friends and your fame.
I’ve tried to wade in twice or more,
Gone against the grain.

Standoffish are you, or merely quiet?
Indifference, or am I a reminder of an old pain?
A puzzle, a mystery, so enticing.
So tell me, do I dare try again?

The last stanza. Is so pretty and beautiful. Like, it describes every single thought that goes through a person’s mind when they want to be close to someone who doesn’t appreciate any closeness.

    Damn, this is perfect. ❀

Ah the mental struggle that is unrequited love. You have captured it well, as always. πŸ™‚

That was simply beautiful – the pain of not knowing how much or even if you’re liked but someone.

It’s the “in between” and the “not knowing” that kills us! And yet…

      Thanks for reading, T! πŸ™‚

And the cycle of pain continues. One is wary of it , the other just feeds on it – both cant get away from it. I ‘ll be surprised if someone hasn’t gone through it .. what a boring life they would have lived πŸ™‚

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, isn’t it? πŸ˜€
