The Almond

Even the moon has fallen silent tonight
No whispers restless,
No voice passes between
It and the branches
Of the tallest trees
That explore it each night just the way I
Search for an almond
In the folds your lips
To nibble into slivers
The colour of the moon
Breathlessly
Let shadows of the night fall
Over us
Bathe us, hopelessly.

Oh so brilliant!! The prompt was ‘voice’ and you came up with this? Absolutely beautiful.
