The Art Of Giving Personalized Gifts

Even as a child, I could never figure out what to gift the gentlemen in my life. It’s funny that a lot of times I got away with gifting my brother and my dad with things that I wanted for myself! But when you start going out with someone, you really cannot do silly things like that. And between the Mr. and me there are simply too many gifting occasions – first date anniversary, anti-valentine’s day (long story, tell you some other day), birthdays, engagement anniversary, wedding anniversary, Saturday. Funny bit is, I am the one who’s forgetful with dates in this house! The boy remembers every date
I dreaded each occasion simply because what in God’s name do you gift a man!!! It was alright the first few times but then there are only so many perfumes and watches you can gift someone.
It was later that I realized that Mr. went through the same circle of anxiety every time he had to gift me something. Of course, in my opinion it’s easier to find gifts for girls.Maybe men do not see it so, even if they know the girl and can get personalized gifts for her.
The word “personalized” is what terrifies – yup – most people. When you’re gifting someone special, you obviously don’t want to give something generic. How many people are going to look at a pair of grey socks and say, “Oh, there’s a story behind this gift”? Unless (and you are really lucky if you know someone like this) the person you’re gifting maintains a collection of grey socks.
Then there is the great fear of our gifts being rejected or laughed at by our loved one. The Rachel Greens among us who are never impressed with whatever you gift them. You’d think about gifting them some gift vouchers and forget about personalizing. But that’s kinda sad, if you think about it. It doesn’t have a human touch – it is a gift without a heart. You do not wanna do that – just no.
I must say if you had the option of recording and framing all the important dates and gifting them, then that would be one of the best options ever! And imagine if those dates were recorded on Indian currency notes? Now tell me, isn’t that something! Luckily, with Anmol Uphar, you can do just that.
In case you are wondering, Anmol Uphar is this unique gifting concept where you can frame a currency note whose serial number matches the date of the occasion you are celebrating – along with customizations like a photograph or a quote to go with it. All you have to do is give them the details and they will design the present in the most unique way possible! You can get in touch with them through their website, and for any other details, here’s their Facebook page: Anmol Uphar

So! Does that take care of your gifting nightmares, or what! I am definitely relieved. Now, if only I could remember all the dates!

I both dread and like giving personalised gifts..and both because of the reasons you've mentioned above 😀

Exactly! And I've mixed feelings about receiving them too – while I would receiving looove personalized gifts, what IF I don't like it. How do you tell them that you “loved it” with a convincing expression if you actually didn't!

I know what you mean. Gifting men is the toughest tasks on earth. This sounds like a great idea.

It is, yes! I can never figure it out!
It does sound like it, isn't it! 🙂

So VT and I have a pact. We don't surprise each other with gifts. The simple reason being – he doesn't know what a surprise gift could mean and which dates are important and what ever I buy for him, gets returned to the store. He is very choosy when it comes to clothes and stuff.
There have been so many instances of these things that we just stopped. But then on and off – I turn to personalized gifts and I love the idea. This one Sreesha, I am going to try! I love the concept. But what I am missing on the website is the pricing. I think they should suggest how much can something cost 🙂 It's a great concept! Thanks a bunch for sharing!

Oh yeah, even we don't give surprise gifts anymore. Sometimes I get so confused that I ask him if there's anything on his mind. He's less shameless than I am (I don't even wait for him to ask :P) so he always replies with, “No! Nothing!” So I just drag him to a store and force him to pick stuff 😀
I know, but I think I saw the pricing info on their FB page. Mentioning it on the website would probably have been easier.
    No probs at all! 🙂

The currency serial number idea is brilliant. Personally I don't like such gifts. It just fills up your house, I would rather go someplace and create memories.

    I wonder what is anti-valentines day 😀

As you have mentioned, there's always a dilemma while gifting on some occasion. Too many perfumes and ties and watches 😦
Personalized gifts are nice idea indeed. Will try the site. Thanks for sharing… 🙂

Hahaha, don't worry, we don't go around getting couples married off 😛 😀

    You're welcome! 🙂
