Transcendental Love

Standing across the banks
Of a river of separation
We stare at the same moon
Peaceful and serene, no reek of desperation

It is enough for me to know you’re there
It’s enough to see the moon shine on you
I know of the number of miles
But in thoughts, I am eternally with you

The moon and stars are forever together
But never do they come nearer to each other
And yet no love is lost between one and the other
My love for you, like the moon and stars
Transcends above all
And it will be cherished forever…

<3 <3 Yes, Sreesha, I think it is possible to love someone so much that it doesn't matter if they don't love you back .. I know about that kind of love and glad that I know about that kind of love .. Lovely read :)

    Thanks, Jyotsna.
I believe it's a higher form of love. One that's beyond simplicities and complexities.. 🙂

Nice read. To love without getting the same in return… very matured.

Nice…You echo a sentiment for long distance love..Similar to the Moon and the Star…Which I liked in particular…

Thanks, Soham! Yes you're right, it can be interpreted as a tale of a long distance relationship as well. 🙂
    Keep visiting!

Really nice & beautiful poem, Sreesha!
Are you really missing someone? Can feel the pain through your words…
This should have been your entry for the Platinum Day of Love Contest- love is eternal like the Sun & Stars! 🙂

Aah, but the Platinum guys were looking for a story! 🙂
    Glad you liked it, Anita!
And as for missing someone, haven't we all, at some point, known what it's like to miss someone so much that it actually hurts…

I love your analogy with the moon and the stars. But I wonder how long any person can sustain a love when they know they're not loved in return.

I believe for the present, it's better not to think about “how long” it'll last. It's all about contentment in the present:)

Beautiful poem, Sreesha. One-sided love is a great topic for poetry, but it's no way to live.

  14. Sreesha Divakaran November 26, 2013 / 5:12 AM

Oh, of course it's not, Helena! But, like you said, it inspires poetry! 😀
